The world is undergoing an era of innovation. Many advanced countries and semi-developed countries are participating in this revolution, which is called 'Green Development', Korea is also partaking in this current trend. Let's look at the aim of developed countries' energy industries, which are a part of the green development, and confirm the difference with our strategy. Denmark : Visionary Danish Energy Policy 2025 Denmark is the most competitive power in the field of wind velocity industry in the world. However, deep global emulation in the wind power industry field makes it difficult for Denmark to keep the lead. For this reason, Denmark will expand the output of new renewable energy, and will invest in bioenergy like biomass or bio-ethanol heavily. Denmark will strengthen international competitiveness, propagating its techniques and increasing exports. United Kingdom : Green Revolution UK government plans for a green revolution are based on a change in the form of electric power production. For this production, UK is investing in off-shore wind power generation to develop energy technologies. According to this plan, UK will move to substitute for the fuel energy which produces the one-third of all output of electric power to wind velocity energy by 2020. Korea : Development and Spread of the Technique of New Renewable Energy and Green Cars Our government does not have any plans specifically about Energy. The government announced a plan that they will develop an energy storage system and important components for the next generation car by 2012. For this plan, the hybrid car, hydrogen fuel car and techniques for less polluting cars will be developed, and about seventy thousands of cleaner cars will be produced by 2012. Also, the supply of new renewable energies like solar power and geothermal energy will create jobs. Up to recently, Korea executed a policy, 'Development is first, and environment is second.' However, we have to work out a strategy for developing the technology and pursuing the transition to a green society at same time. Moreover, Korea has to change the form of the Korean market to green, and to use the green market as a stepping stone to be a major player in the world market.
