Chungju City, which is from the ¡°Chung¡± in Chungcheongbuk-do, is a city in northern Chungcheong province, South Korea. It borders Jecheon City to the east, Eumseong County to the west, Goesan County and Mungyeong City to the south, Wonju City in Gangwon province, and Yeoju City in Gyeonggi province to the north. Due to the mountains lined up along the Sobaek Mountains to the southeast, the Namhan River (ÑõùÓË°) and Dalcheon Stream (Ó¹ô¹) which passes through Chungju city, Chungju city is located in an inland basin rich in water resources, making it a historical hub since ancient times.
 
Gyeongju is a city in southeastern Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Korea. It is one of the oldest cities in Korea and was the capital of the Silla dynasty, which led the period of the Three Kingdoms (a period of Korean history established by the three countries of Goryeo, Baekje, and Silla) on the Korean Peninsula for about 1,000 years. Therefore, it is called a roofless museum and is well known as a tourist spot where people can encounter cultural heritage sites around every corner. Many historic sites and relics, such as temples and stone Buddha statues that contain the essence of old culture, are scattered throughout the city, giving a glimpse of the culture and art of that time.
 
Like the Versailles Palace in France and Buckingham Palace in England, Korea also has one of the representative palaces of Korea, Gyeongbokgung Palace in the center of Seoul. Gyeongbokgung was constructed in 1395 during the Joseon Dynasty to be served as Joseon Dynasty¡¯s main palace. It was once destroyed by fire during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 and reconstructed in 1867 by the Prince Regent at that time. After reconstruction, it survived through Japanese occupation and the Korean War, and it is now open to the public after many restorations.
 
Olimpia Zagnoli is an Italian illustrator born in 1984 and she is active in many fields. She is engaged in various works from design to kinetic art, ceramics, neon signs, and media art. Soft lines and color like a chameleon characterize her works, which evokes positive energy and pleasant imagination in spectators. In collaboration with Innisfree, a Korean cosmetics brand, cosmetic cases were launched with illustrations of her in 2017. Moreover, she collaborated with global brands such as Prada, Dior, Fendi, Max Mara, and Mandarina Duck.
 
The excitement of the World Cup that heated up South Korea in December 2022 has now spread to the K League. At the end of the 13th round, the 2023 K League 1 season has maintained an average attendance of 10,158 spectators per match, over the dream milestone of 10,000 spectators. This football boom continues in Cheongju, where CBNU is located. Chungbuk Cheongju FC, a newly joined team in K League 2 this season, is the one carrying on this heat.
 
Near Buk-han Mountain in Seoul, there is a ¡°Modern History Memorial Hall,¡± where people can sense the footsteps of their ancestors to protect the country¡¯s freedom from the ruling class and foreign influences, and the April 19th National Cemetery, where the victims of the April 19 Revolution are buried. These heroes paid the ultimate price to protect the Korean democracy from the dictatorship of the ¡°Lee Seung-man regime.¡± A CBT reporter visited the Modern History Memorial Hall and the April 19th National Cemetery in Seoul, to see records and exhibitions of an historical event in the past. Through this article, let¡¯s explore the valiant efforts of our ancestors to protect the Republic of Korea.
 
Have readers heard about ¡°mummy?¡± Mummy means a human or animal body that has been preserved to its original form through several procedures. During the 6¡¤25 War in Korea (1950-53), both Koreas signed an armistice agreement at Panmunjom, signaling the official start of the division. However, the two Koreas are moving forward towards peace on the Korean Peninsula through steady exchanges and diplomatic dialogue at Panmunjom. In this article, a CBT reporter visited Panmunjom, a place of dialogue, peace, and hope.
 
Until a few years ago, people did not imagine that they would easily communicate with others and create something through a virtual space called Metaverse. In addition, based on this technology, the Arte Museum, a permanent exhibition hall for immersive media art, was created in Jeju Island. Visitors can experience immersive content in the space itself without additional equipment such as VR and AR.
 
On October 1st, CBT reporters visited the Cheongju National Museum of Contemporary Art located in Naedeok-dong. It was opened in Cheongju in December 2018 as the fourth contemporary art museum after Gwacheon, Deoksugung Palace and Seoul. The museum, which used to be a tobacco factory, was rebuilt to preserve history, symbolism and to harmonize with the surrounding landscape by maintaining existing forms such as chimneys.
 
¡®Daejeon Shinsegae Department Store,¡¯ which officially opened on August 27th, and it offers a variety of the usual stores buying and selling goods. Even though, there are other specialized facilities the most special being an aquarium. The place, which had been thoroughly promoted through SNS, was opened to people by pre-invitation, and the official opening was originally August 27th, the same day as the department store. However, it was postponed a couple of times in consideration of the COVID-19 situation. Therefore, the final official opening was on September 10th. A CBT reporter, who visited the facility located on the first basement floor of Shinsegae Art & Science in Daejeon, will introduce some of the prominent features as well as an interview with Oh Chae-eun, a member of the management team.
 
The COVID-19 epidemic has significantly reduced the frequency of people going out and experiencing outside places. Also, people sometimes feel that they are tired and bored because they spend most of their day indoors like house or office. Therefore, CBT reporters visited Mungyeong Saejae Provincial Park located in Gyeongsangbuk-do, to experience history and nature. This place was designated as a Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Park on June 4, 1981. On the way from Gateway 1 to Gateway 3, there are various experience facilities, such as an open set place, a representative filming location for historical dramas and many museums.
 
This article was penned for busy modern people. Due to busy schedules and the COVID-19 pandemic, modern people spend more time indoors. While staying indoors, people often feel depressed and frustrated. Therefore, CBT reporters recommend visiting ¡®Mt. Seorak¡¯, which has just turned lush and green to mark early summer. Of course, visitors should follow quarantine guidelines, wearing masks, and social distancing. In this article we will introduce the four courses of Mt. Seorak. We booked a guesthouse nearby Mt. Seorak and visited Move-rock and Gwongeumseong Course on the first day, and Biseondae Rock and Geumganggul on the second day.

These days, people can¡¯t go traveling, and therefore most of them are staying at home. As people spend so much time at home, they feel lethargic and depressed. CBT reporters, concerned about how these people can regain their vitality, set out to find various activities to recommend to them. In addition, as a result, The CBT reporters concluded that the most useful activity is indoor rock climbing. Therefore, the CBT reporters set out to have a firsthand experience of this activity.
 
As you may know, there are three well known promenades in Korea: Gyeongridan-gil in Seoul, Hwangridan-gil in Gyeongju, and Unridan-gil in Cheongju. Today we are going to focus on the latter. Unridan is a promenade connecting the Cheongju Museum of Ancient Printing to the Community Service Center via Heungdeok Elementary School. It is a cultural street where you may find a variety of workshops that have been preserved for a long time and cute shops with a modern feeling. Recently, young merchants have gathered to create various attractions, and therefore it has emerged as a popular place on social media. CBT reporters made a tour of this place.
