Since 2010, Chungbuk National University has implemented the Student Exchange Program for Training Overseas, which sends the students to overseas universities during the semester. The average of 72 students have been selected by the program hosted by Department of Public Relations and the Center for International Affairs. The students can experience different cultures and improve their language abilities.

This year, the Department of Public Relations and the Center for International Affairs accepted applications from June 1st to the 14th and selected 80 students for the program. The selected students were sent to Philippine universities, located in Manila and Cebu for fifteen weeks from September 1st to December 15th, 2011. The universities offer one-to-one, one-to-five, one-to-ten training for the students. They can experience a variety of learning opportunities. The students also can volunteer to help the natives learn Korean.

After completing the program, the students can receive the maximum 18 credit hours.
The Center for International Affairs evaluated separately the lower grades and the higher grades according to students' 'GPAS', English abilities. Students who received at least 3.0 every semester, except for freshmen, were qualified for selection. Also, they had to submit proof of test such as TOEIC, TOEFL and TEPS taken within the last 2 years of the application deadline. The Center for International Affairs excludes seniors due to graduation conflicts.

CBNU supported 3,800,000 won, which includes training, transportation and insurance costs. Thanks to this support, the students could go abroad for language training at the low cost of 2,100,000 won.
