[Well-being in Our Society]Nature and Tradition: the Main Concepts of Well-being
Á¦ 111 È£    ¹ßÇàÀÏ : 2009.10.03

As society is becoming modernized and convenient, many people are starting to have more interest in Well-being than before. In the early days, consumers had to be concerned about Well-being by themselves. They raised vegetables, and they used vinegar instead of bleach  when they did their laundry. However, Well-being is starting to reflect in our lives because Well-being has become a strategy in marketing to overcome the economic depression.
As people cannot believe the safety of foods because of several food crises, consumers have begun to prefer quality to cost. Therefore, people prefer agricultural products which are certified as organic foods. The government manages the environment-friendly foods, which use less or no chemicals, from production to distribution.
Korean traditional foods have been revitalized because of the recognition that Korean foods are the best for Koreans. Therefore, foods such as bossam and gamja tang have become popular, and restaurants use less chemical spices and have more concern about the management of ingredients.
Interest in Well-being is not limited to foods. As appearance is also considered to be important, interest in cosmetics has grown. For this reason, vegetable cosmetics, which use natural plants, are made to satisfy people¡¯s desire for healthy products. Producers make their products from natural ingredients, and they even make lids from recycled materials. This makes people satisfied, because the effects of natural materials are guaranteed and there are no side effects. Similarly, a hair restorer which is made of Korean medical plants has been developed. The restorer became popular because the effects of medical herbs are potent.
More people have an interest in Korean vegetables, traditional foods and Korean goods than before. Nature is certainly necessary for us to live and eat well. Therefore, people should cherish tradition and nature to live well.
