From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 15, an Electronic Information Fair was held on the first floor of the new library of CBNU to increase the utilization of electronic information. The annual Electronic Information Fair was originally operated in the second half of the year, but this year, it was held in the first half of the year so that students could make the most of the library subscription academic DB (Data Base) through academic counseling. A stamp tour was conducted to introduce undergraduate and graduate students on how to search for academic data necessary for research or assignments and to apply for a lottery prize by collecting stamps.
Various academic DB officials participated in the introduction of the academic data search method and directly introduced the utilization of each academic DB to students. There are also explanations for journal search systems in specific specialized fields such as Samil I.COM, as well as papers like DBpia and KISS, which are often used by students, so they could listen to explanations according to their careers and interests. In addition, in-school DB that allows students to acquire national certificates and learn foreign languages online, such as the National Technical Certificate of the 365 Learning Center, an e-learning system, also participated. While students were listening to the explanation of each academic DB, the stamp tour was conducted by collecting more than four stamps, submitting the stamp sheet to the operation booth, and receiving gift certificates. Many students participated in the event, which offered gifts such as tumblers, notebooks, and computer mice through random draws when solving and matching quizzes related to library use.

Cho Min-sung (Dept. of Archaeology and Art History, 22) said, ¡°I came to the library by chance and participated in the event, which proved invaluable. As my studies in ancient art advanced, locating and identifying various papers was challenging. Thanks to this event, the study process became much easier by teaching efficient paper-searching techniques. During the vacation, I also plan to study for various certificates through the e-learning system.¡±
A prize lottery took place at 4:30 p.m. as part of a stamp tour. Held at Gaesin Culture Square, the lottery awarded various gifts through a tiered drawing system. Prizes included Starbucks gift cards, cultural gift cards, and Olive Young gift cards, as well as products such as Bluetooth speakers, wireless headsets, wireless earphones, and smart watches.
Jeong Hyeon-wook (Dept. of Computer Engineering, 22), who won the first prize and received a smart watch, said, ¡°I learned about this event through push notification through the library application, and I participated because I frequently use the academic service, so I wanted to know more about the unfamiliar academic service and how to use it. This time, I learned about DBpia¡¯s thesis summary and explanation function through AI, and I think I will be able to reduce my working time and use the thesis efficiently from now on. Also, I was lucky enough to win the first prize, so I think this event will be remembered for a long time. I will be more interested in and participate in library events in the future.¡±
Meanwhile, Yoon Hyun-ji (Dept. of Archaeology and Art History, 23) expressed regret, saying, ¡°It is regrettable that the push notification for this event was nothing more than a simple notification. If some academic data search methods were introduced and the contents of the event such as stamp tour, prize draw, and quiz were promoted, more students would have participated.¡± The actual library push notification does not have specific information about the event, but the e-mails sent to students¡¯ personal emails contain specific information about the event.

Lastly, librarian Kim Hye-ri of the library Educational Support Team said, ¡°This event was designed to increase the utilization of electronic materials in the library and to provide practical help for research and study. Sometimes, there are students who subscribe individually because they do not know about the library¡¯s subscription academic materials. Through this event, we were able to let them know that subscription academic materials and e-learning systems are provided free of charge on the library¡¯s website. This fair offered a great reward for students to pay more attention to the library and use various services,¡± and added, ¡°In addition to the electronic information fair, the library conducts regular education using academic DB every month, so I would like for students to check the notices on the library website from time to time and participate actively.¡±
Currently, at CBNU¡¯s library, students can learn how to write reports every Wednesday, how to use the library, how to use academic DB, and thesis management programs such as Endnote and RefWorks. As the education is also conducted in English, interested foreign students can also take the course. Students who have missed this electronic information fair or want to take the education in English should apply for the remaining regular education in June.
