Facilities of CBNU
Chungbuk National University (CBNU) has a number of facilities for students. When students know about the Health Service Center (HSC) and the Human Resources Development Center (HRC) among many other facilities, they can spend a more useful time at university.
HSC operates for the health care of students and faculty members on the second floor of the No. 1 Student Union Building. Basic treatment and Body Composition Analysis are free. The center started a service where test results can be confirmed by smart phone. Also, the annual medical checkup will be held on March 19~23 for freshmen and juniors.
HRC is composed of the Job Department and the Women¡¯s Career Development Center. The Job Department is on the first floor of the No. 1 Student Union Building, and the Women¡¯s Career Development Center are located on the third floor of the same building.
The Job Department runs job training programs and job-hunting camp programs. The program that offers advice, guidance and information to students one on one is especially popular among the CBNU students. If students book a consultation, they can talk to a teacher at a convenient time. Students can learn how to write resumes and cover letters, and they can receive the most up-to-date information about businesses and jobs through counseling. In addition, the job department will be opened this spring and is preparing to company using the DB system which gives students information of solid small- and medium-sized businesses. There is also an automated self interview machine. Students can always have free mock job interviews, and this machine offers students interview recording files. Chung Hyun-seok, a teacher in the Job Department, said, ¡°Seniors often visit the Job Department. However, students should know how to prepare for job-hunting and plan for their future lives starting from their sophomore or junior years, so I would welcome frequent visits from younger students to the job department.¡±
The Women¡¯s Career Development Center is for finding jobs for fe
male college students. This center operates various programs such as Couple Partnership Training, Couple Design Program, One on One Career Development, and business start-up. One on One Career Development Program helps students write career devel
opment plans to look for jobs. This center is for female students, but male students also can participate in some programs, such as Couple Lifetime Program and NGO Overseas Placement.

Accumulate your specification!!
What do university students worry about most, and what are they trying to accomplish before they graduate? If students are questioned, most students will respond ¡®accumulating specifications¡¯. Accumulating specifications is also info-war. Only someone who has information can grab an opportunity, improve ability and build up their experiences.
Kim Han-byeol (Department of School of Business 09¡¯) and Gong Ye-sol (Department of International Business 10¡¯) said, ¡°Accessing the Human Resource Development Center of CBNU often is important in order to check the notice board. We can get various information, such as all sorts of special lectures that our school offers, corporation work camps, job fairs, internships, scholarships, part- time jobs in the school, contests and exhibits.¡±
We can also obtain information about outside activities at the many websites.  In particular, ¡®Specup(cafe.naver.com/specup)¡¯ is a famous cafe of the portal NAVER among university students in Korea. It has a lot of information that university students need to know for their future jobs.  Aside from this cafe, it is good to take note of YoungSamsung and YoungHyundai, which are managed by major companies for their potential manpower.
Volunteer service is also a specification. Many companies think volunteer service hours are a prior condition and will be needed when students graduate from university. You should check required volunteer hours in the Office Room or on your department's website because required volunteer service hours are different by department. To complete hours, you need to do volunteer service through the Volunteer Management Center(www.vms.or.kr), donate blood or take part in volunteer programs under the supervision or a host of a school.

Counsel that the enrolled students convey to freshmen>
The enrolled students have three pieces of advice that they want to convey to freshmen who have just entered our university.
 First, join clubs.
Our school has many clubs from registered clubs to department clubs. The freshmen can have a lot more of fun in university if they combine studying and doing club activities. However, you should not join many clubs. The important thing is acting, not joining. You should actively participate in club's activities. You should also grasp the club's objective and atmosphere. There are many good clubs, but clubs that don't have objectives and only drink and play are also common. Our school has clubs related not only to culture or physical activity, but refinement, volunteering, religion and academic interests. If you do not want to join clubs, it is good to act as a school publicity supporter or to join a study group.
 Second, drink in moderation.
Many freshmen start to drink after becoming adults. You can drink alcohol your whole life if you are an adult. People say drinking does more harm than good. There are a lot of things that are more important than drinking in university. However, it is inevitable to participate in drinking parties to make many personal connections, such as drinking parties with the seniors or classmates early in the first semester. If this situation occurs, sensibly avoid sitting near heavy drinkers and be creative of excuses. Nevertheless, don't go overboard because too many heavy rejections or tricks may give a bad impression to elders.
 Third, travel
A trip is an unofficial required course for university students to have a fruitful school life. Many freshmen live an evasive life where they do not study hard or play hard due to lots of free time by entering a university. Many students say, ¡°Skipping class for travel is much better than sitting in dumb.¡± Let¡¯s widen the perspective of the world by traveling with friends on weekends or holidays. A penniless journey is also good. 'Rail Ro', a tour product made by the Korail, is also recommended for a vacation. When you have time, take a trip.
