In this interview, CBT interviews Wang-Xin who is from China. She is a student of the College of Social Science, Department of Political Science and International Relations in CBNU.

Q : When did you decide to study abroad in Korea?

A : At first, I wanted to go to university in China. However, my ability was lacking, so I couldn't go to a famous university. I was a Department of English Education student in China, but I couldn't endure the university life in China. Therefore, I decided to study abroad. Searching the university to study abroad, I found CBNU and then I came to CBNU.

Q : Do you have any troubles in CBNU?

A : It is a little hard to enjoy Membership Training(MT) and alcohol parties in college. Sometimes, I am a little scared when I see my friends drinking alcohol. If we go to MT for one day, I think I can try to join with my friends. However, we usually stay one night and two days. Therefore, I hesitate to go to MT. I think these things are hard for me.

Q : Isn't it difficult when you are studying with Koreans?

A : At first, in CBNU, I was a student of the Department of English Language and Literature. It was not very hard to study with Koreans because the Department of English Language and Literature foreign professors and some professors teach in English. It wasn't hard to understand. Instead, I felt comfortable because Koreans and Chinese have the same fear of English. After my sophomore term, I changed my course to the Department of Political Science and International Relations. It was harder than the Department of English Language and Literature to understand the teaching. Moreover, some professors' teaching pattern was peculiar. Some professors teach by just talking without writing or teaching materials. These things are hard.

Q : You speak Korean very well. Did you study Korean in China? Also, do you have any know-how about speaking Korean well?

A : In my case, I practiced the pronunciation for five months before I came to Korea. Actually, it was not useful. I learned Korean in Korea. I don't have know-how. I think exertion is the best way to succeed. Many foreign students study in CBNU, and their gaps appear according to their endeavors. I want to advise to CBNU foreign students that, "Effort is the best strategy."
