[Desk Column] Try What Can Be Done and Seize the Chance.

I took the university entrance exam three times with the goal to go to a medical school. I could only apply for regular admissions because my school records were messed up. However, while challenging to take the university entrance three times, the thought that it was unfair that my chance had been deprived permeated me. I have regretted a lot that I gave up my GPA, and I realized that I have to do my best on whatever is given to me in order to get an opportunity. Therefore, I came to a resolution to get high grades at university and seize the chance whenever it comes to me.
My three exam scores were alike, and I finally failed to go to medical school. While I was keeping myself busy, time passed like an arrow and I have been procrastinating in my studies. These days, I find myself arguing that the school has to increase the portion of As, ignoring my laziness, blaming the grading system, and demanding an absolute evaluation instead of a relative evaluation
Many people, including me, make an excuse for low scores and blame the grading system.  During the time of discussion of changing the grading system, the school became uproarious with two public hearings. However, the top survives in any field and under any system. If you cultivate your abilities, your affiliated college and limited ratios of grades won¡¯t be your barriers.
My father always told me to be a ¡®pro¡¯. He emphasized from long-ago to devote myself to my given tasks and be the best specialist in my major. The duty of students is to study and, therefore, I have to study hard and be good at school. Of course, all my efforts won¡¯t assure my success and  luck has to be a dividend of sweat, but I have to try what can be done and wait, like the idiom, ¡®Man proposes, God disposes¡¯.
Still, I¡¯m keeping up my self-justification about my insatiable grades. I always lament to my colleagues that I have so many tasks and that I don¡¯t have any energy or time to spend on studying. However, you will damage yourself if you violate the priorities in your busy lives. We have to do our best diligently to possess high competitiveness to survive. Thereafter, you can survive as the most optimized person according to the laws of survival of the fittest.
