There is no simple way of understanding our life, as the age-old classic dichotomy of reason and unreason is being demolished. The world is actually an extraordinary place that frequently negates logic and is always full of mysteries and miracles. By going beyond the limits of reason, we should perhaps be able to understand these paranormal events and happenings. The world we are living in is quite complicated in may ways and may never be understood through the classic approaches to life.
  Some people tend to resist supernatural implications and insist on searching for what is “real” or “true,” arguing, “facts are important.” They see these extraordinary phenomena as totally opposed to the unbeatable kingdom of reason (or rationality) and often refuse to believe in anything invisible, saying, “I will believe only when I can see them.” They also criticize people who believe, even proclaiming that accepting what is unreal may be the symptoms of madness. But what about the precious values of invisible things like passion and love? These qualities may be physically invisible and may not be understood in scientific ways. But does it mean that they do not exist? Now we need to come up with a broader range of thoughts (a new realm of human knowledge) and extend our thoughts beyond the conventional boundaries of reason, as we explore the extraordinary world of what used to be called fictional.
  There may be certain things we should consider for a deeper understanding of what seems fictional or unreal. First, we really need to take some time to think about the human mind. Too many people are obsessed with cell phones and computers, which often interfere with our thoughts and behaviors. We should perhaps take a moment of silence at least once a day to focus on something other than those fancy high-tech devices. Then we should learn how to appreciate invisible values like passion and love. The old saying, “seeing is believing,” may no longer be valid in our new understanding of life, since there are so many things in our life that may not be physically visible but should still be considered powerful. Finally we need to open our hearts to a wider range of the universe. Being obsessed with those age-old dualities (such as visible versus invisible, sane versus insane, real versus unreal, etc.) will interfere with our communication and therefore should be discredited in our classrooms. A different way of thinking should not be confused with an indication of craziness, and we need to be able to learn how to respect and appreciate diverse perspectives about human life. After all, there is nothing wrong with going beyond the limits of reason.
