This year, many things happened all over the world because of the corona virus outbreak. Especially in Korea, the response to Corona 19 has drawn international attention. For example, some heads of state urgently requested direct access to Korea’s Corona 19 diagnostic kits. The efforts of countless medical staff and citizens in Korea have greatly reduced the number of confirmed cases. It is abundantly clear that Korea’s response to the Corona 19 outbreak was significantly different than other countries.  In this article we will explore some of the major differences.
  Korea’s response to the Corona 19 is the result of the efforts and collaboration of countless people. People actively adhered to the government’s social and life prescriptions to prevent the spread of the infection. Most people wear masks when they go out, and masks have also been donated to the poor who might be easily exposed to the virus. In addition, some people volunteered in person where they needed help. Also, the public valued and obeyed the opinions of experts effectively delivered by various media outlets and made every effort to follow it. These nationwide efforts have been a great help in overcoming the Corona 19. Furthermore, other countries failed to properly respond to Corona 19 and began to refer to the Korean people’s civic consciousness and life as exemplary cases. Many people were proud to be Koreans, seeing their efforts to solve the problem almost instantly bear fruit.
  The Korean government’s outstanding efforts should not be overlooked, because it enabled people to actively participate in overcoming the Corona 19. When confirmed patients were discovered, the government quickly identified their movements and informed the public. It also sent safety notification about the danger of infection for example when moving between regions. Also, the government implemented a policy to ensure the proper supply of masks to meet the demand from the public, and to prevent the hoarding of masks. I think the government’s biggest role has been to quickly and accurately deliver the information of Corona 19 to the people. It certainly did its part to help the people cope wisely without falling into confusion. The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) quickly began developing diagnostic kits to identify confirmed patients, which led to the introduction of diagnostic kits that can be confirmed in one day. This helped prevent the spread of Corona 19 infections by quickly separating confirmed patients. Furthermore, the diagnostic kit was in high demand to be exported to other countries.
  Third, Korea’s advanced IT technology is already globally recognized, and in this case it helped overcome Corona 19. As evidenced by this, many websites were created to check the number of confirmed patients in real-time when the early Corona 19 was widespread, and various apps have been developed to check the availability of masks in each region as well as the number of confirmed patients. This allowed citizens to receive information on Corona 19 through various channels.
  In my opinion the Republic of Korea is already responding appropriately to Corona 19. However, despite the proper treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, there are still factors that may quickly negate all the success that we have enjoyed until now. After the recent holiday season, with its implied social distancing, we should continue to be cautious of the recurrence and increase of confirmed cases.  It is now necessary to prepare for the possibility of national infection of new epidemics or the recurrence of Corona 19, and to maintain the current vigilance. South Korea’s handling of the Corona 19 incident was truly great. Based on this, I hope that Korea will take the lead  among other countries in the future. May a new age dawn for Korea where it plays an even more significant role on the world stage.
