As long as the walkout is to claim what their problem with the company is, this walkout by the broadcasters doesn¡¯t have a good reason. Even though they are trying to break up the unjust report which was forced by their presidents, they cannot kick their presidents out in this problematic way. Most of all, it should be stopped because this walkout is illegal.

Kim Ji-su / Dept. of Management Information Systems, ¡®12
As all of us know, the media is supposed to announce fair information without leaning toward one side too much, so the walkout is really necessary to protect our right to know the truth and its original function. Even if it gives us the inconvenience of not watching our favorite TV programs, we all have to endure and strive for cleaner and more proper broadcasting instead of grumbling about inconvenience.

Kang Hee-kyung / a professor of Dept. of Sociology
After the Lee Myung-bak administration appeared, personages who had worked in Lee Myung-bak¡¯s camp for election were nominated to the presidents of broadcasters regardless of the existing presidents¡¯ remaining terms of employment. The walkout has begun because presidents newly named in the present administration are suppressing the freedom of press. From the beginning, it was the expected result of naming new presidents who were interested in politics not in freedom of media.
The claim that the strike is illegal because it was initiated by a ¡®political¡¯ reason may be a result of a strict legal viewpoint considering the politics. If President Lee Myung-bak didn¡¯t ¡®politically¡¯ appoint new bosses of broadcasters, the walkout wouldn¡¯t have begun. Freedom of press is the fundamental basis of democracy, and we have to find the solution considering that the heart of public debate is the press.
