It has been 60 years since Chungbuk National University(CBNU) was established as 'Cheong-ju Agricultural College'. There have been many changes such as new departments, new buildings and revised curricula. Chungbuk Times(CBT) will introduce CBNU's changes from 2011. | |

Chungbuk National University(CBNU) is composed of 13 colleges and 72 departments. Each college(with the exception of the College of Education) and department has student councils apart from the General Students' Association(GSA) of CBNU. These dozens of student councils are carrying out their duties as they represent students' opinions. | |

Since 2010, Chungbuk National University has implemented the Student Exchange Program for Training Overseas, which sends the students to overseas universities during the semester. The average of 72 students have been selected by the program hosted by Department of Public Relations and the Center for International Affairs. The students can experience different cultures and improve their language abilities. | |

Korea faces problems stemming from an increasingly aging society, such as supporting the elderly, taking care of senior citizens' health and the social isolation of the elderly. The Ministry of Health and Welfare created local Seniors Clubs to tackle this challenge work.
The Senior Clubs find and make better occupations for the elderly and provide them with jobs. 99 Senior Clubs were established all over the country, and there are 4 Senior Clubs in Cheong-ju. | |

As a CBT reporter, I attended the short program for training overseas, which is implemented by CBNU, for 5 nights and 6 days. The training program was held in Indonesia, Thailand, and Cambodia. In those countries, I suffered from severe heat waves, barely palatable foods, and terrible water quality, but I was very excited as it was my first trip ever overseas. | |

Chungbuk National University has implemented the Short Program for Training Overseas Training, which sends the students overseas during vacation. It's the 11th year of this program, which was started to cultivate a better perspective of the nation, to instill in the students pride and a sense of duty, and to adapt to the globalization. | |
