After K-POP started its inroads into the Japanese music market, it has been spreading around the world. Korean singers already topped the Oricon chart a long time ago. The Oricon chart is a Japanese music chart. This month, some singers, including Big Bang, Girls’ Generation and Jang Geun-suk, held the top spots on the Oricon chart. In accordance with its conviction, 'Love makes the impossible possible', there is a school which gives hope to hearing-impaired students. 'Glove', a film directed by Kang Woo-suk, was released in January of this year. 'Glove' was based on the true story about the baseball team from that school. Some other people feel they are socially responsible for their civic obligation or financial reward in everyday life. It is clear that a philanthropic atmosphere is not popular among younger cohort. | |

Recently, the necessity of mentoring programs in universities has been an issue as students have many problems adapting to universities and employment. Many universities, such as Seoul National University, Sookmyung Women’s University, Chonbuk National University, are running mentoring programs, and Chungbuk National University (CBNU) started the CBNU Lifelong Mentoring System this year. However, it is different from the mentoring program which students have asked for. The CBT talked with CBNU students about mentors. | |
