Chungbuk University raises donations from enterprisers and gives them out to students. One scholarship foundation is the 'Sinmoongo Scholarship‘. The criteria for the selection don't include students' grades because this scholarship was made for students who live in difficult household situations. CBNU started this scholarship because poor students have to manage both part time jobs and school, so it's more difficult for them to obtain good grades.

 The Department of Student Affairs received applications for the bursary from the College of Humanities, the College of Social Sciences and the College of Education, which have had the lowest benefits from previous scholarships. The applications were written by students themselves, and it was also possible to be recommended by other people. However, the Department of Student Affairs didn't receive applications openly out of regard for students who are reluctant to reveal their circumstances. 14 people handed in applications and only 4 of them were selected. The chosen students obtained a scholarship worth 2.5 million won.

 The businessman who first contributed to the Sinmoongo Scholarship was Han Young-hui. The CEO of TESTTECH.,LTD founded on the first of July in 2001. He succeeded in founding the company at the Industrial Technology Research Park. Then, he built a factory in Ochang in 2007. He also grew up in a poor family and graduated from night school.

 The Department of Student Affairs is going to continually ask for donations. Additionally, the Department of Student Affairs is preparing other scholarships for students who have been excluded from existing systems, and they plan to start a 'Mentoring Scholarship' where enterprises support the cost of schooling for students for 2 or 3 years. Some students cannot receive scholarships because their grades are bad due to difficult circumstances. The Department of Student Affairs will help them through the 'Hanbit Scholarship' and make another plan for students from multi-cultural families.

 Park Kyung-ae, the Department of Student Affairs official, said, "Sponsoring many students is a challenging task because the budget is limited, so we started to support students with donations from companies. We hope that many students will have courage and a positive attitude through receiving scholarships, and we believe those students will contribute to their juniors in return.
