"The plus", the General Students' Association(GSA) of Chungbuk National University(CBNU), opposes revising school regulations.
  On February 18, CBNU held a briefing session about revising school regulations and made new regulations such as the relative evaluation system in majors, the repetition system for failed students and the warning system. During the winter vacation, CBNU suddenly changed policies without enough discussion with the students and school staff members. In addition, the information that they suggested for revising school regulations was not true.
  Several students from different colleges and the GSA made an emergency committee and are trying to plan measures to prevent changing policies. In the management committee's conference, which every colleges' representatives attended except for the college of Medicine, most committee members are actively objecting to the relative evaluation system in majors and the repetition system for failed students. Committee members will continuously hold the conference from May to June.
  Representatives of the College of Human Ecology and the College of Humanities said, "The number of students who attend a major lecture is usually about 20. The relative evaluation system is very unfavorable to us." They are actively opposing revising school regulations which will cause extreme competition.
  Park Kyoung-hwan (Department of Mathematics '11) said the main reason they started this movement was the problem of the CBNU's undemocratic process. He said, "CBNU emphasized that the percentage of A's and A+'s was 71.9%. CBNU said that companies usually don't trust CBNU's grades because of inflated grades. Therefore, CBNU insisted that inflating students' grades should be stopped by introducing the relative evaluation. However, the actual percentage of A's and A+'s, which was posted on the website of 'Korea Educational Development Institute(KEDI)', was only 40%. Providing incorrect information to students is a violation of the students' rights. According to questionnaires which GSA used to collect statistics, the average percentage of disapproval was almost 92%.
  On May 4, to correct these problems, GSA informed student representatives about the problem with revising school regulations and looked for members for an emergency committee by sending text messages to every colleges' student leaders. GSA collected the CBNU students' opinions by collecting statistics and putting together questionnaires. GSA is distributing circulars which have information about revising school regulations for students who don't know the concrete contents of the changing policies, and is pushing for a signature campaign in Jung-moon. About 800 students are participating in the signature campaign for about an hour and a half each day.
  GSA isn't disclosing information about activities which will be implemented for opposing revising school regulations, except for distributing circulars and the signature campaign. The spring semester has about one month left. However, there is no positive result compared to all the effort by GSA. GSA should take additional measures and immediately put a plan into practice to obtain the good results that the CBNU students want.
