Chungbuk National University's second campus in Ochang has been actively promoting industry-academia cooperation facility development that provides on-site facilities for companies and research institutes. For this reason, CBNU is planning to build a second campus in Ochang.
   CBNU purchased 195,041.6㎡ of land for a university site in 2002 in order to establish the second campus in Ochang. Also, CBNU purchased 270,604.3㎡ of land in 2009. The second campus in Ochang will contain some technological institutions. In addition, the second campus in Ochang will establish an international convention center for international cooperation, dormitories and a variety of other facilities. The second campus in Ochang will establish a complex integration of research centers. The complex integration of research centers will have several roles from research institutions to national projects teams. These centers are expected to cost 20.9 billion won as a business expense, and it will be completed in 2014. The second campus in Ochang will include a research and development personnel education center of the Korea research foundation. It will provide educational rights that come with the research and development of human resources such as R & D personnel. The education center will be completed in 2015. Also, the second campus in Ochang will build a wildlife center. The wildlife center will be utilized for training and education of related departments in conjunction with the local government. The land area covers 10.00㎡, and the project cost is expected to be 1 billion won. It will be completed in 2014. By establishing the second campus in Ochang, it will be possible to minimize the difficulty of securing excellent human resources of small and medium-sized enterprises. Therefore, CBNU will develop the local economy and regional industries.
   Some students have a positive outlook about the second campus in Ochang. Students think it will be an enterprise facility. Therefore, CBNU will be more professional and it will come to have the characteristics of CBNU. Therefore, it will improve the image of the school. On the other hand, some students have negative ideas about the second campus in Ochang. Students think it will only focus on industry.
