Do Students Participate in CBNU Events?
Á¦ 141 È£    ¹ßÇàÀÏ : 2013.06.03

*The school events: These are the events in which all students can participate by the head office, affiliated organs or the student government of CBNU.

Recently, there have been many school events* in Chungbuk National University(CBNU). The representative events in May were ¡®Ask the head of Jung-chul, a copywriter(5.14)¡¯, ¡®2013 One book with a letter from your friend(5.1~5.31)¡¯, and ¡®2013 contest of the items and the instructions of the foundation of the female college students (5.27~6.14)¡¯. There were many events, but there was little participation by students. For this reason, ¡®2013 One book with a letter by your friend¡¯ extended its period from 5.16 to 5.31.
CBT asked 500 students in CBNU about the participation of the events in CBNU to know how many students participated in the school events. The question ¡®How many CBNU events did you participate in?¡¯ was asked. 78.2% of students replied that they didn¡¯t participate in the school events. 13.4% of students replied that they participated in the events once a month. Less than 10% of students replied that they participated in the events more than twice a month.
The biggest reason of nonparticipation in the events was that they didn¡¯t know about the events of CBNU. For the question, ¡®Why didn¡¯t you attend the school events?¡¯, 38.6% of the students replied that they didn¡¯t know about the events. 32.5% of students replied that they weren¡¯t interested in the events. On the other hand, the biggest reason of participation in the events was that they wanted to have useful information. For the question, ¡®Why did you attend the events?¡¯, 39.5% of the students replied that they went to the events to gain useful information. 28.4% of the students replied that they were interested in the events. Next, 27.5% of the students who said they participated in the school events more than once a month replied that they had fun. In addition, 66.1% of the students who said they participated in the school events more once a month said that they attended lectures. 51.6% of the students who said they participated in the school events more than once a month replied that they gained information through banners.
For the question, ¡®What do you think about the progress of the school events?¡¯, the students answered as follows. One was the events were useful. Another was the events were mainly involved in getting jobs. Another was the promotions for the events were insufficient. An officer in CBNU said, ¡°The promotions of the events had limitations. For example, text messages to give information to students are expensive. It is impossible to send text messages to more than ten thousand students.
Only necessary text messages, such as ones about scholarships, are sent to all students. Therefore, if you want to gain information, you should check the homepage of CBNU. CBNU updates all information on the homepage of CBNU. In addition, CBNU is an institution of education, so CBNU has to allocate the budget to promote the school events for educational purpose.¡±
There are many useful events in CBNU. The students of CBNU need to be more concerned with the school events. Additionally, CBNU has to proceed with the various events after reflecting on various concerns.
