The 1st Semester Selection of Exchange Students for Foreign Universities for 2014
  From the beginning of this September, the Center for International Affairs has proceeded to additionally recruit more exchange students for the English-speaking sister universities for the 1st semester of 2014. Angelo State University, which is one of the universities located in the USA, has made a special offer to exempt the full tuition fee, in the name of exchange qualification, to the student who has the highest combined scores of grades and interview points. Additionally, 2 million won will be given to that student as a Chungbuk University scholarship.
 
Organizing a Special Committee to Set Regulations of Selecting the President
  The 10th election of university president, which will be held soon, is not going to implement a direct election system but a public subscription system. Because of unreasonable content in the regulations of selecting the president which were made last year, and the vague regulations of the composition of people who will participate in the committee of recommending presidential appointment is not obvious, on September 16th the Chungbuk National University announced that a special committee was composed to supplement the emerging problems. A special committee, which is made up of 15 professors, will deliver the completed method of organizing the committee of recommending presidential appointment and the ratio of recommendation as soon as they can. The committee members for recommending the president will be selected after that, and results will come out no later than this month.
 
CBNU Is Leaping Forward for FTA Professional Manpower Training
  On September 2nd, CBNU signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with Cheongju  Customs and the Cheongju Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The MOU was created because it is urgent to train efficient staff for the FTA, which helps local companies to advance overseas markets. The MOU contains the expansion of regional companies’ employment opportunities. In addition, the three organizations will do joint research of FTA business consulting institutes for small and medium enterprises and then use the results in a cooperation project. It is expected that there will be a big influence in resolving the shortage of human resources.
