[Campus People] Lee Do-dam, the project leader of Story Recieving Tree
Á¦ 149 È£    ¹ßÇàÀÏ : 2014.06.03

A project named the Story Receiving Tree created by art major students was displayed in front of N16-2 from April to late May. Chungbuk National University(CBNU) students could add to the tree by hanging their stories on it. The purpose of the project was for art major students to communicate with CBNU students. A CBT reporter met the project leader, Lee Do-dam(¡¯11, Dept. of Fine Arts).

How did you start this project?
It was one of the projects from the class of Practice of Formative Arts and Western Painting. On debating about our project, one of our team members said, ¡°We, art major students, rarely communicate with CBNU students. Because of it, I hope to communicate with CBNU students through Story Receiving Tree.¡± Every team member agreed with it, and we started the project.

Why do art major students think that they rarely communicate with CBNU students?
When we sometimes held project exhibitions, CBNU students rarely visited our open studio to see them. Although we held various exhibits many times, there were not many students. Therefore, we want them to visit and see our work.

Is there any fun story about the project?
Before hanging students¡¯ stories on the tree, we could read them. They were a lot of fun and lovely.

How about the students¡¯ reactions of your piece?
Thanks to advertisements, about 300~400 students participated in it. We spread promotion papers, posted posters, and hung placards for advertisements.

After finishing the exhibition, how are you going to dispose of the stories?
The tree will be displayed as a sculpture. In the case of the stories, we are thinking that students can retrieve their stories.

To your team members!
After I became the team leader, I was so shy and confused. However, my colleagues helped me a lot and clearly followed my orders. I especially appreciate my older colleague Hye-lin.
