When you walk in CBNU, you might see a person who strolls on campus, but this person is not a university student. People who come to the school mostly visit to do their business or to exercise. However, people’s visit seem to be a problem because some people come to school for impure motives.
  The most typical example is mission work that students might have experienced before. In the past, missionaries stopped people and taught sermons. This situation was usually witnessed near the central library. Some missionaries stopped students with this phrase, “Do you know about the spirit?” Recently, students have been puzzled by the new missionary way, ‘Daehak-Neil’, which is a magazine that college students often read. Religious leaflets are inserted inside the magazine. Cho Seon-hye(’15, School of Business), said, “I was confused when I read a magazine and found out there was a religious leaflet inside the magazine.”
  CBNU made various plans to relieve students’ anxiety about outsiders. The university built 10 alarm bells called ‘Emergency Call’ on campus. Emergency Call connects to the ADT CAPS situation room on campus, so ADT CAPS staff members detect dangerous situations quickly. Moreover, our university runs ‘Campus Police’ for school security. Campus Police have a total of 16 members, which consist of 10 general students’ association student officials, 5 members of a club named ‘Cheon Ja Bong (Marine Veteran’s Meeting), and 1 member of the teaching staff. Particularly, Campus Police focus on prohibiting drinking alcohol at CBNU’s pond(solmot), observing vulnerable sites on campus, and prohibiting loud singing or mission work. However, there are negative views about Campus Police. In the message board ‘CBNU Representative Cafe’, a CBNU student uploaded his thoughts about Campus Police, “Of course, some of them work very hard, but it is nominal because they just walk around in groups.”
  Likewise, there are two universities that insisted on solutions, but they had bad responses from students. At first, Chonnam National University restricted students visiting during weekends to solve security problems and the matter of outsiders visiting the school. Also, Chonnam National University’s Liberal Arts College notified students about the security management rules that the university will restrict usage of students’ association rooms and club rooms. A student who attends Chonnam National University’s Liberal Arts College said, “I know the school is trying to enhance the security management. However, I can’t accept the time regulation and closing the school on weekends.”
  The second example is the case of Pusan National University. There was a sexual molestation that occurred at night by an outsider. The school asked for preventative countermeasures, but the university headquarter’s solution was unsuitable. The solution that the school suggested was to expel students who stay up late at night at school. The General Students’ Association said, “The university headquarters’ role is to make the university safe, but they are shifting the responsibility to students. The university must expand crime prevention facilities and strengthen the guard system. By these examples, if the university makes decisions carelessly, they can receive bad responses.”
  However, CBNU doesn’t only have disadvantages from outsiders who are visiting the university. By outsiders visiting our university, it can be an advantage such as promotion of the university name or an increase of popularity. Actually, high school students visit our university for taking pictures in order to make a yearbook, and their responses are good. Jung Na-eun(Sannam High School, 3) said, “I never visited Chungbuk National University before, but it is much better than I expected. Also, I felt good when I took a picture because the surrounding views with flowers are very beautiful.” Therefore, outsiders’ visiting are not only just a problem but also a benefit to our university. However, in order to minimize the students’ complaints, the university’s and outsiders’ efforts are very important. If our university makes a solution, it must be a reasonable solution.
