Every university has strange stories. There are a variety of rumors at CBNU. The ghosts of dead children doused with water often appear at Sookmyung Women¡¯s University. Also, it is rumored that ghosts crawl around the walls and ceilings in the CCTV room of the College of Arts at Jungang University¡¯s 2nd Campus in Anseong city. Some universities have ridiculous rumors as well as scary stories. There are lion statues at Kyunghee University. If students get on a lion statue near the main building, they become forever alone. If they get on a lion statue at the back gate, they can escape from being forever alone. What are the rumors at CBNU? Some of them are scary stories. Therefore, students who don¡¯t like scary stories should be careful about reading this article. Also, it might be fun for students to make a comparison between the contents students know and the article.

Ghost sightings

- Students living in the Yangjinjae Dormitory had many sleepless nights because of posts uploaded to the university community site in 2016. An anonymous writer wanted to change rooms because he saw a ghost sitting in his bed in a dream. That event happened not just to him but also to his roommate. After that post was uploaded, rumors that ghosts appeared in the dormitories swirled among the dormitory students.
- In 2017, a post was put up on the university community site that a witness saw a demonic figure in the tree near the old 2nd Student Union Building. The writer introduced himself as a person who often sees and feels ghosts and said that he sometimes saw strange shapes on trees near the 2nd Student Union Building at night. Another anonymous student who saw ghosts stated that students often witnessed female ghosts there. As this community thread continued, it gave fear to the students and frightened them.
- In 2018, there was an anonymous tip-off that a student saw a child ghost laying on the ground and crawling fast without moving its hands or feet in front of the College of Agriculture, Life & Environment Sciences. The child looked like an upper elementary school student wearing a T-shirt. The anonymous student thought that kid was a real person, but he realized that she was a ghost because of her fast motion of crawling without her hands or feet. This student added, ¡°People and ghosts are hard to distinguish, so a person you saw might have been a ghost.¡±
Every year, there are creepy ghost stories in CBNU that frighten CBNU students. Have you ever seen a ghost? The people you have seen might have been ghosts, and the opposite is true as well. Maybe you just have not noticed it yet.

The dumb stairs

The dumb stairs are in front of the main building of the College of the Natural Sciences of CBNU. Initially, there was no particular name, but the stairs were low, and each step was uneven and bumpy. As a result, the students named them dumb stairs. There is a story about the silly staircase. One of the rumors is that if students fall down these stairs while climbing up the dumb stairs, they will not find love for three years. The rumor is that the only way to break the curse is to take a walk along the 100-meter Metasequoia Path.

Solmot Pond

4.jpg

As Solmot Pond is CBNU¡¯s famous icon, there are many rumors about it. Many students might have heard of them. The first one is a story of diseases. If students jump into the pond, they will get every disease except venereal diseases. The water quality looks so bad that this kind of rumor has spread. Students might know about Solmot Pond¡¯s water quality. Is the rumor true? No Min-wook (Facility Department officer) said, ¡°Solmot Pond was installed 18 years ago. We pump groundwater and use a natural circulation system. In summer, the algae is becoming more severe, so we add more water and purify Solmot Pond naturally. Recently, there was some slime, so we cleaned some rocks.¡± CBT found that Solmot Pond¡¯s water quality was not as bad as students thought. The second rumor is a story about the name. When you reverse the syllables, it is ¡®Motsol.¡¯ The pronunciation is similar to ¡®Mosol,¡¯ which means ¡®single since you were born.¡¯ In other words, students will become single for four years if they fall into the pond. Therefore, students have to be careful when they walk around Solmot Pond. If they slip on the dumb stairs, they will be alone for three years, but Solmot Pond is for four years. Therefore, students who want to experience love should be careful around those spots.
How were CBNU¡¯s rumors? Some stories might be familiar to students, and some might not be. Some may scare students, and some may be funny. If students have no experience with love, try not to fall down the dumb stairs or fall into Solmot Pond. Rumors are just rumors, and believing or not is up to you.
