Due to the influence of COVID-19, our lives have changed a lot compared to before. In particular, ¡®Untact Consumption¡¯ has increased significantly, making it an indispensable factor for us ¡®Untact¡¯ is a combination of ¡®un¡¯ and ¡®contact¡¯, meaning ¡®no contact¡¯. Online classes and VR shopping, which used to be unfamiliar, have now become all too familiar in our lives. Under these circumstances, the CBNU Museum decided to hold an online exhibition. In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the museum¡¯s opening, a special exhibition will be held from September 25 to November 30 under the theme of 50 Years of Excavation Records. The exhibition will be held online to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, since social distancing has been eased, the exhibition will also be held at the museum from October 5. It opens on weekends during the special exhibition period. If it is difficult to attend, visitors can enjoy it in VR. Thus, online visitors can relieve their disappointment and experience new pleasures through an innovative viewing method. How to watch online is as follows. You can easily view it by scanning the QR code below.
The first exhibition hall systematically displays the culture of the Paleolithic era of Korea¡¯s central districts. Since 1976, our museum has systematically exhibited 1,200 artifacts, including stone tools, animal fossils, and human fossils, by exhibiting the relics of the Durubong Cave in Cheong-won, Dan-yang Suyanggae ruins, and Cheong-won Sorori ruins. In addition, this exhibition hall is the largest in Korea and boasts a variety of specialties and originality. In the second exhibition hall, relics from the Neolithic period to the Joseon Dynasty period are displayed. You can see the cultural aspects of Korea at a glance here. The relics on display were excavated from Chung-ju Chodong-ri site, Chung-ju Gimneung-dong site, and Cheong-ju Shinbong-dong site, which were investigated by this museum. In addition, 430 relics donated by beneficiaries such as Shin Sang-jung and Lee Se-geun, were exhibited. The special exhibition is a collection of numerous excavations from the CBNU Museum. In addition, this special exhibition shows not only the relics but also the process of the excavation. It also recorded the scene of the excavation and the images of the students and researchers who participated in the excavation. Kim Young-kwan, director of the Museum said, ¡°CBNU celebrated its 69th anniversary this year. Since the museum has been active with the university for 50 years, it can be said that the museum is CBNU itself. Through the exhibition, you can experience memories of CBNU¡¯s past, present, and future. Also, we will be doing online VR viewing, so please  show a keen interest in the special exhibition.¡±
Due to the influence of COVID-19, the CBNU Museum prepared an online exhibition, but since the chosen online platform was relatively unknown and had many limitations, the CBNU Museum opted for the VR viewing method instead. As a result, Cheong-ju citizens as well as students of CBNU will be able to enjoy the exhibition in the near future. In order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of CBNU¡¯s opening, let¡¯s take a look at the history of CBNU through VR viewing.
