Chungbuk National University held an annual festival, called Gaesin Daedong-je, that should not be missed. This year was no exception, and it was the second untact Gaesin Daedong-je held at Chungbuk National University. The Untact Gaesin Daedong-je, which ran from Octoer 26th to 28th, was a non-face-to-face event due to the COVID-19. The festival theme was R&B where the ¡®R¡¯ stands for ¡®Road¡¯ to move forward based on the 70th anniversary of the university, and the ¡®B¡¯ stands for pioneering a new path against the ¡®Background¡¯ of justice.

The Gaesin Daedong-je ¡®R&B¡¯ festival consists of main festivals. ¡ãUwang Jawang King, which is a song festival unique to Chungbuk National University. Participants were organized to play in a preliminary and a final round on October 26th. ¡ãVisible Radio, which was held at the Gaesin Cultural Center Grand Performance Hall. Also, there were small events. ¡ã70th Anniversary Hidden Picture Finding: Find the Uwang ¡ãYouTube Subscription Certification Event ¡ãUwang story relay etc.

The programs of the ¡®R&B¡¯ Gaesin Daedong-je Festival were held in the Performance Hall on the first floor of the Gaesin Cultural Center (E2). In addition, the IF Team, Shin Yong-jae and Kim Won-joo, participated as the special king of singers and performed a duet on stage with students who won the finals. This event was successful receiving big attention from students. Also, invited celebrities singer Hong Kyung-min and rapper Lee Young-ji participated in the Gaesin Daedong-je, adding more fun and excitement to the Gaesin Daedong-je. As Cheongju City¡¯s social distancing was extended to the third stage, all festivals were held in a completely non-face-to-face. Hosts and guests followed quarantine rules after washing hands, fever checks and scanning the QR codes.

[Everyone enjoyed Gaesin Daedong-je]

What were the reactions to the 70th online Gaesin Daedong-je? After the Gaesin Daedong-je, the CBT reporters interviewed students and a student president of Chungbuk National University, Oh Tae-young, who planned the festivals.
Next, the CBT reporters interviewed the reactions of Chungbuk National University students who participated in the Gaesin Daedong-je.
Woo Hyun-kyoung(¡¯20 of Dept. International Business), who participated in Untact Marathon, said that ¡°I¡¯ve been thinking about participating in the marathon for a long time, and it was nice to have an opportunity in this festival. I have stress during the exam period, but this time I can relieve my mind through running. Also, It was a great experience to see the beautiful scenery of the yellow campus.¡± Kim Woo-yeong(¡¯20 of Dept. of Ethics Education), who participated in Uwang Jawang King, said ¡°Because of COVID-19, I had a lot of regrets that I couldn¡¯t enjoy school events properly because I had a long non-face-to-face school life. In the meantimes, I saw the notice of Uwang Jawang King and participated to leave good memories in school life. The Student Council prepared the event fruitfully within compliance with the quarantine rules, and thanks to this, I participated in the event hard. I¡¯d like to thank the Student Council for making me happy memories, and I hope that the Student Council will continue to plan meaningful events like this year. In addition, if there is a wish, I hope that the COVID-19 will be improved next year so that I can enjoy face-to-face events.¡± Kim Ga-ram(¡¯21 of Dept. of Child Welfare), who participated in a non-face-to-face lecture, said ¡°I was usually interested in stocks, but it was good to meet with experts through this event. Thus, it was an amazing experience to meet John Lee, a CEO I only saw on YouTube, at this event. Through this event, I learned about the stock more correctly and how can I become a wise investor. Next time, I think it would be good to get a chance of a face-to-face lecture.¡±
Oh Tae-young, the president of CROSS, also said ¡°While planning this Gaesin Daedong-je, I vowed to create an enjoyable festival for all Chungbuk National University members, in the spirit of the name ¡®CROSS,¡¯ not just for the student society. I think there are three major groups that make up Chungbuk National university: academic faculty, administrative staff, and students. Through this Gaesin Daedong-je, we have made great efforts to create a festival for all members of Chungbuk National University to enjoy. While preparing for the Gaesin Daedong-je, I felt that the days were very short, and we hardly had enough time to cover all the basis. As the exam period approached, I didn¡¯t have much time to prepare for the festival, but I was very happy during the preparation period. I felt that the team members were united every day, so this was rewarding. Most of all, I was so happy when I heard the satisfaction of my classmates saying, ¡°Thank you¡±, ¡°It was so much fun.¡±¡±
