Hi everyone! I hope you had a great summer vacation. In English, after we have a vacation, it's really important to share your experience with your friends. When your friend tells you about their vacation, you should always REACT to their experience by asking FOLLOW-UP questions for more information about their experience. If you don't ask for more information, the person will think you are rude or bored! So let’s learn how to ask for more information about summer travels.
  First, you should ask general questions about the trip. For example, "Where did you go?"  I went to Bali this summer.  Then you should react in some way. Usually some good reaction expressions are phrases like "Oh, really? Wow, cool!  Awesome." It's not enough to just say one word like "Oh, really?" We have to pair the expressions together to sound more natural.
Then we should ask for more general details.  Usually we use expression that begin with WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHY, WHEN, and HOW.  A good question would be "Oh, how long did you go for?”  Great question!  I went to Bali for two weeks.
  Now it's time to ask about the trip details. Usually it's good to ask about the flight, the food, the experiences, and the hotels.  For example "How was the food?" or "What sites did you see?" or "Why did you decide to go there?"  Let’s start with the flight. "How was the flight?" It was very good, but it was a little bumpy. 
Another good question is to ask about the HIGHLIGHT of the trip. We can ask "What was the best part of the trip?" or "What was the highlight of the trip?”  The highlight of my trip was staying in a little hotel near a volcanic lake.
  That sounds amazing, right?  You should follow up this information by reacting again. "Oh, wow! Were you scared of the volcano?”  In this case, I wasn't scared because the volcano was dormant, so there was no problem.
  It's easy to keep the conversation interesting, but remember to use two reaction phrases when you hear something interesting, and use Wh-questions to get more information so that your friend feels that you are trying to connect with him. Now you can talk all about your summer trips with a native speaker!
