Gamonwan¡¯s Campus Life
Á¦ 179 È£    ¹ßÇàÀÏ : 2018.06.04

This article is the last story of Gamonwan¡¯s campus life series, which CBT introduced this year. It has been months since she came to Korea, and the season has changed. The exchange student life of Gamonwan is nearing its end with the change of the seasons. In this article, we interview her about her feelings during her stay in Korea.

  Q. What will you remember the most from your stay in CBNU?

  A. I will remember the field trips for the exchange students, which are managed by the CBNU Office and International Services. I could learn deeply about the cultures and traditions of Korea and Koreans through the trips. Also, I will remember Buddy Program. I could become intimate with Koreans through the program, so it helped me to adapt to Korea.

  Q. What are your feelings about your time spent in Korea?

  A. I think that my life was inconvenient before I obtained my certificate of alien registration. In Korea, the authentication method is very strict for foreigners, and foreigners must obtain a certificate of alien registration if they wish to get a USIM card, a student ID card or a bankbook. For this reason, it was hard to carry out banking services or to use a cellphone without Wi-fi. Also, there is no microwave or refrigerator in the dormitory. Therefore, I lacked the things which can make and keep instant foods. This has been my first time away from home. I feel I grew by trying to live on my own in an unfamiliar place. I developed my sense of responsibility by making plans and deciding things such as which classes to take or where to travel alone.

  Q. Lastly, do you want to say something to Gamonwan¡¯s Campus Life readers?

  A. When I studied at a Thai university, I didn¡¯t have a lot of experiences. However, now I¡¯m so happy because I could meet people from all over the world and enjoy several experiences through being an exchange student. I could meet nice Koreans and get happy memories by having a good time with them through the Buddy Program. If you have a chance to join Buddy Program, I think you could meet various foreigners. I think that learning cultures of your foreign friends is the same as traveling to their countries. Thus, I think you should meet people from all over the world. I¡¯m so thankful to you for listening to my stories this semester. See you again!

We have read her stories from her preparing to be an exchange student to her adapting to Korea. The time to get back to Thailand is coming soon. It¡¯s a real shame. I¡¯m so grateful to Gamonwan for giving her story to our readers. In the end of this article, this series is finished.

At the end of Gamonwan¡¯s story, the ¡®Global&Friends¡¯ also ended. It was a new section for exchange students, and CBT hopes you enjoyed ¡®Global&Friends¡¯. Thank you for reading it during the first semester. In our next issue, CBT will come to you with new ideas and fresh material. CBT wants you to look forward to seeing what CBT will prepare for the second semester and what it will publish.
