
The Start-up Support Center in CBNU was ranked the best in the Supporting Start-up field because of its good environment to support start-up clubs and companies. However, there are a few things needed to improve the Start-up Support Center.
First, there are so many supporting documents needed when you buy some items with a corporate card. You need to submit 5 documents. They are an estimate for items, a transaction receipt, a receipt, an item¡¯s picture and a application form to buy. If you can¡¯t submit these, you should pay for it at you own expense. Compared to the Start-up Support Center, other supporting centers and companies demand only an item¡¯s receipt.
Second, there are so many forbidden items. An officer in the Start-up Support Center said, ¡°You cannot buy completed products. It is a rule.¡± However, it is a big obstacle to operate a start-up company. Buying rival products and similar items is really important to engineering field companies because of the feedback. Sadly, they can¡¯t do it now.
Third, supporting money for meetings is impossible after 10 p.m. and during weekends. Almost all members in start-up clubs and companies are students. They should take classes from 9 a.m. ~ 5 p.m., so they don¡¯t have enough time to meet together. If they can¡¯t have meetings because of a lack of supporting money, it defeats the purpose of the club.
Lastly, team members can¡¯t enter the meeting room without the leader¡¯s student card. When a stand-in for the team leader is there without the leader¡¯s student card, he can¡¯t go in. It prevents the meeting. Some students said it is inconvenient when the leader is late.
For such reasons, I think the Start-up Support Center thinks only about view of a manager. If they value the purpose of the clubs, they need to think about managing from the students¡¯ view.
