After final exams, the winter vacation will come. Therefore, many students will plan for the winter vacation. Among the plans for the vacation, some students will apply for the winter session during the vacation for improving their scores or early graduation.
You can find the information about the summer or winter session on the CBNU homepage. The notice about the session is uploaded early in May in the summer and November in the winter. Students including students on leave of absence can apply for the classes without classification of grades. However, students on leave of absence who finish the eight semesters cannot apply for the session.
Students who want to take the winter session have to apply for the subjects that they want to have during the term for application. Then, the subjects which have more than three students are chosen by the university as possible classes, and then classes which have more than twenty registrants are established, and students select the classes among the established lectures. The units which students can take through the summer and the winter sessions are limited to six.
The fee for attending lectures is 20,000 won per one unit. If students take an experiment or exercise class, they have to pay a 2,000 won for additional fee. If they pay the fee for attending a lecture, it is non-refundable except for the case that the subject is cancelled. The session continues for about four weeks, and they should take 15 hours of lectures per one unit.
The burden from the summer and the winter sessions could be huge for the students because they have to learn about the subjects in a short time. Also, some students might utilize the vacation even though it is possible to experience various things. In case of applying for the summer and winter sessions, students have to decide after careful consideration not to waste their time because of a vague plan.
