As the number of students with automobiles increases, the demand for parking near Chungbuk National University campus has increased. There are two ways to use parking lots: paying a general fee or regular registration. Both ways are a financial burden. People who need to park for a long time or need to come and go frequently don’t use the general fee because of excessive cost.
  Most people try to use free parking lots. The front gate’s parking has 44 spaces, the back gate’s(East gate’s parking) parking has 300 spaces and the south gate’s parking(Entrance of Hagyeonsan) has 30 spaces. The back gate’s spaces are used by hospital employees. The way for using free parking lots is that people are issued free parking lot stickers. People need a vehicle title, a copy of the resident registration, and a student ID or identification to receive a free parking lot sticker. People in the university can use the parking lots only in the case that the automobile owner’s name is immediate family. There are so many people who are issued free parking lot stickers, and the parking spaces are lacking, so even if you are issued free parking lot stickers, you can’t park your car.
  If you want to use the parking lots inside the university, it is possible to think about regular registration. The regular registration system is different from the free parking system. The cost of the regular system is 4,000 won if the automobile is light-weight. It costs 8,000 won for larger vehicles. The conditions for regular registration are that the people who want to use the parking lots are businessmen or students and the automobile is registered in their name. Only disabled people can register joint names. In an actual case, an anonymous student didn't seek a parking lot sticker and the automobile was in his father’s name, so the student parked the automobile illegally in a villa parking lot.
  The university needs to seek a method that efficiently uses empty sites and gives free parking lot stickers in consideration of commuting distance. Students that live near Cheongju should use public transportation. It will help students who have to drive and will reduce the budget about securing parking spaces.
