The Buildings of CBNU Are Changing
Á¦ 179 È£    ¹ßÇàÀÏ : 2018.06.04

When walking around the campus of CBNU, university students can see many construction sites. The current construction of CBNU includes the library extension and the remodeling of the club center. This article explores how the library and the club building will be used in the future.
The addition to the library, scheduled to be completed in December this year, is under final construction. The library extension is being built in the old parking lot of the existing library with a total area of 10,000§³, and it will be a five-story building including a basement. In addition, the newly-built library will increase accessibility by adding an underground parking lot and some gardening. Lee Ye-sol (¡¯14, Dept. of Social Studies Education) said, ¡°I mainly use the E-Learning Commons Zone on the first floor of the Central Library. However, there are often no seats available even if it is not during the exam period. I expect that the newly-built library will address this inconvenience. In addition, I don¡¯t have much time to use the library because I am currently a junior. Therefore, I want to use the newly-built library quickly.¡± Im Na-ri, a librarian at the CBNU Library, said, ¡°Due to the long construction schedule, some services and facilities were restricted, and noise and dust caused inconvenience. However, in consideration of the many students, the construction will continue more smoothly. Therefore, the original completion date scheduled for December will be delayed until the end of June. In addition, we are considering opening the library from the first floor to the third floor in August so that students will be able to use the library sooner. In order to solve the previous lack of space, we will offer the preferred E-Learning Commons Zone on the first and second floors. We will also enlarge the group study room. As a convenient facility, a café, ¡®Coobnu¡¯, will be located on the first floor, enabling students to drink near there. In addition, we are building a film monitoring room that was not available in the original library, and we plan to arrange various spaces so that many students can do various activities in the newly-built library. The mobile student ID card system will be the biggest change that students will notice when they use the newly-built library. In certain areas, a mobile student ID card will be used to restrict access by outsiders. In addition, we will build a system to reserve the library seating through mobile student ID cards.¡±
The remodeling of the club building (Building S14, 2nd Student Union Building), which started in May, is scheduled to be completed by the end of November. The purpose of remodeling the club building is to make sure that the students are able to work in a good environment. Lee Jin-ho (¡¯14, Dept. of Software), the Student Union President, said, ¡°When the remodeling of the building is completed, a total of 65 rooms will be created so that 60 clubs will be able to operate. During the construction period, the clubs will operate at the Pharmacy Research Hall (Building S4-2). However, the Pharmacy Research Hall will also start remodeling work. Therefore, when the remodeling work of the Pharmacy Research Hall is started, the club items will be stored in a container that CBNU loaned to the clubs. Facilities, such as the Gaesin Culture Center and the Student Union Building, will be available to be rented to minimize the shortage of club locations. After the remodeling of the club building is completed, we will assign a band club and practice room on the first floor, and then we will collect opinions through meetings with club representatives for assigning club rooms.¡± Kim Woo-kyeom (¡¯14, Dept. of Society), the Vice President of the investment club ¡®Wiz¡¯, said, ¡°I thought the existing club building was very old and needed remodeling. Through the remodeling of the building, I expect that many clubs will engage in club activities in a better environment in the future.¡±
For the convenience of the students at CBNU, the newly-rebuilt library and club building are under construction. The students will get a chance to use cleaner and better facilities. Although there are inconvenient existing facilities due to the time-consuming construction, many students will be able to use CBNU facilities more comfortably when the construction is completed.
