Talking is not just emitting sounds, but it is transmitting people’s sincerity to others through their sounds. People speak a lot in their daily lives. However, people who express their sincerity are few and far between. The performance “Kwangsoo’s Thoughts” tells us how hard and precious  expressing people’s sincerity is.
There are two main characters. Kwang-soo has not confessed his love to a schoolmate for decades, and Ji-hyun, who has been aware of his one-sided love, has waited for his proposal. They love each other but a have hard time waiting because of the result from their misunderstanding. The parents also don’t communicate with each other. The “Father” only tells his hard responsibilities for his family to the pet, and the “Mother” keeps the house by doing side jobs, concealing it from her husband to protect his pride. Since their love wasn’t professed, the family members’ troubles were serious. The solution was to talk with each other.
Most people have seen the cartoon “Kwangsoo’s Thoughts,” which is the original work of this performance. Some “thoughts” in the cartoon give us warmth. In this performance, the famous lines from the original work are absorbed. The subject on the surface is one-sided love, but it illuminates every love hidden in our hesitation.
Nothing is complete unless we put it in final shape. Even though our love is sincere, it can make our lover scared if we don’t express our love. We need to reflect on our passive attitudes. How about saying, “I always love you” to our lovers or family members confidently with sincerity.
