Invaluable and special lectures started in Chung-buk National University.
Our school turned out the first female ROTC.
Chungbuk National University has conducted the second self-assessment of departments.
 
In college of the social sciences, Students are discussing about Chungbuk National University's new crisis on 26th, september.
 
From September 28 to the 30, the Gaeshin Daedong Festival was held. More various programs than last year pleased the eyes and ears of the students in this festival.
 
On February 6, Chungcheongbuk-do and the National Folk Museum held a declaration ceremony of ‘The 2012 Chungbuk Folk Culture Year(2012CFCY)’ in the Cheongju Culture & Arts Center. The declaration ceremony had four events, which were a standing event, an event before the official ceremony, an official ceremony and an event afterwards.
 
Chungbuk National University(CBNU) is composed of 13 colleges and 72 departments. Each college(with the exception of the College of Education) and department has student councils apart from the General Students' Association(GSA) of CBNU. These dozens of student councils are carrying out their duties as they represent students' opinions.
 
In comemoration of the Social Enterprise Festival, students performed the Nanta which is a non-verbal performance integrates Korea's traditional rhythm, Samulnori, with comedy.
 
Every February and August, PC rooms located near CBNU are always full of students who have to register for courses. Although CBNU students go to the PC rooms to enroll in classes in the early morning, PC rooms are already full of students. There are many students going back to their home with long faces because they didn't register for courses which they wanted.
 
On August 26th, CBNU decided to hold the 2011 tuition review board. The board will be held in September, and it aims to make school finances transparent, to expand the scholarships and to provide a forum for discussion between the school and students.
 
The CBNU Industry-University Cooperation Center was selected by the Small and Medium Business Administration
Hynix Semiconductors granted scholarships to the students.
The Overseas Corps volunteered in Jeongamchon located in China.
 
CBNU Summer English Career Camp was held for four weeks beginning on June 22 in the Center for International Affairs. Unlike the last winter camp ran for excellent students only, this camp was for students with low self-confidence. The TOEIC scores of students who participated in this camp have improved by an average of 120 points.
 
CBNU Veterinary Medical Center held '2011 Companion Animal Festival' in the Outdoor Auditorium on Children's Day.
 
‘Korean language school’ in the center. GLP is a student exchange program. The students study in foreign universities which are sister schools with CBNU. CBNU became affiliated with Cebu Doctor’s University in Cebu, Philippines in February.
 
"The plus", the General Students' Association(GSA) of Chungbuk National University(CBNU), opposes revising school regulations.
 
Korea faces problems stemming from an increasingly aging society, such as supporting the elderly, taking care of senior citizens' health and the social isolation of the elderly. The Ministry of Health and Welfare created local Seniors Clubs to tackle this challenge work. The Senior Clubs find and make better occupations for the elderly and provide them with jobs. 99 Senior Clubs were established all over the country, and there are 4 Senior Clubs in Cheong-ju.

CBNU students have different thoughts about the orientation program for freshmen called yebidaehak program which started this year. Some students said the program was helpful for university lives and friendship, while some students expressed complaints. They said that holding the 4th, the 5th and the 6th programs after the semester had begun was not related to the purpose of the program.
 
“The Plus”, the General Students’ Association (GSA) of Chungbuk National University (CBNU), has created “the Minimum Wage 4320 Project” for CBNU students. “The Minimum Wage 4320 Project” is planning to educate students who were treated unfairly and receive lower than 4,320 won an hour, which is the legal minimum wage, and were treated unfairly.
 
It was impossible for hearing-impaired students to attend real-time classes on their own. However, thanks to tablet PCs, laptops, and other devices including smart phones and pads, hearing-impaired students can participate in classes in real time with ordinary students.
 
The important goal of the support is the mentoring project for connecting Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs) with university students.
