The 2010 Osong International Bio-Symposium was held in CBNU. The ninth annual event was held in the Gaesin Cultural Center on November 5th and 6th. Many scholars delivered lectures, and diverse events were conducted.
 
Students of Chungbuk National University can freely use wireless Internet thanks to many installations of Access Point (AP). With the appearance of wireless electronic media such as smart phones and netbooks, the use of wireless Internet rapidly increased. In the past, the usable areas of wireless Internet were rare and the charges were expensive. However, with the spread of the wi-fi zone, every student who has wireless electronic media can use the Internet at no cost.
 
On campus, the futsal stadium is being constructed on the site where the old Student Club Rooms(building number 11) used to be located.
 
On October 12, both CBNU and CNU were inspected simultaneously by the audit committee. Democratic Party(DP) lawmaker Byeon Jae-il attended as a chairman and eight National Assembly members were present at the inspection. The presidents of CBNU and CNU also attended with key university administrative officers. The parliamentary audit, which was held in CBNU, lasted for about two and a half hours, and the presidents answered difficult questions from the eight inspection commissioners.
 
Six CBNU professors are listed in the 2011 edition of 'Marquis Who's Who in the World'. It is one of the famed biographical annals. Albert Nelson Marquis published the first edition in 1899. Every year, 'Marquis Who's Who in the World' introduces famous people from every field in the world.
 
From September 28 to the 30, the Geashin Daedong Festival was held. The theme of this festival was ¡°Sharing, Challenge, and Unity." During the festival, various events, such as a world record challenge by making a 59m Injeolmi, a marathon race on campus, and a quiz show, took place. This year, there was a special song festival with local residents. This event was planned based on the recognition that the Gashin Daedong Festival was not only for CBNU students but also for the local community. In addition to these programs, the Girls Students Association opened events for female students, the Disability Supporter Center held programs for experiencing disabled people's hardships, and students of a CBNU public relations team provided a program for students.
 
As many people download software programs illegally and vary the methods of downloading, Samsung will oppose these situations by greatly increasing software manpower. How about the uses of software programs in CBNU?
 
On July 30th, French President Nicolas Sarkozy announced the expulsion of Gypsies and also people of Roma ethnicity. He insisted that Gypsies increased the country's crime rate, and he demolished dozens of makeshift camps where the Gypsies lived. In addition, he expelled them from France and returned them to their original countries such as Romania or Bulgaria.
 
Large-scale discount stores, which account for most markets, always attract consumers because of their lower prices than the suggested retail prices(SRP). Since they focus on many consumers, they can even lower their prices on delivery through volume purchase.
 
There is a movie director who is making films with ordinary grandparents in small country towns. His name is Shin Ji-seung. He created a new genre for movies, 'Maul Film¡®, and he is trying to make movies where everyone can feel empathy. Let's find out about Maul Films, which are made by average people unlike commercial movies made by only a few experts. Let's listen to the story of the movie director Shin Ji-seung, who directed 70 movies while traveling around the country for 10 years.
 
A man was standing in front of 10 students, giving a lecture passionately. He was lecturing students who had difficulties with their studies. He didn't take a tuition fee, but he asked them to serve as volunteers and to make a donation of 30,000 won. Who is he? He is Myoung Ji-sung(35), and he attended the college of law at CBNU. Due to his proposals, students served free meals at the YMCA and donated 300,000 won to a boy who doesn't have parents.
 
The Chungcheongbuk-do's National Election Commission and the General Students' Association(GSA) had agreed to install the polling place to cast absentee ballots. After GSA posted a notice on absentee voting on May 5th on the official website, students were asked to fill out the application form at collge building lobbies. The registration for absentee voting was closed at 4 p.m. on May 14th.
 
Have you seen the posters saying, 'Please, fill my empty seat!' that were on the message boards of the library and Hyeongseol Building and on doors of reading rooms. They were part of a new CBNU campaign. CBT will select a different campaign every month and give information about it. Through this section, CBT is going to carry on various campaigns and make efforts to lessen inconvenience in CBNU. That's why CBT is going to report on these campaigns.
 
The Emergency-Call(E-Call) will be installed around the campus. This project is hosted by the General Students' Association and the General Female Students' Association in cooperation with a security service company, ADT CAPS.
 
There was an unpleasant incidence related to the dormitory's repair service. Students point out the dormitory's repair service overall is good and quickly performed.
 
Last autumn, H1N1 was prevalent all over the world. CBNU installed hand sterilizers in every college for preventing H1N1. However, the danger of H1N1 decreased, so the use of hand sterilizers decreased, too.
 
The contract with Samsung S1 expired on February 28th, so CBNU's security system was changed to ADT Caps. As a result, Caps started the replacement of equipment in February and will provide security service to every CBNU building starting March 12th.
 
There were wall newspapers which made position of the General Students¡¯ Association and Students¡¯ Association in College of Social Sciences clear in the New Students Hall. A student is looking at the newspapers.
