Cheongju's BIS, which was introduced at the end of 2005, will be replaced. According to a survey on the old BIS in Cheongju City, 61% of citizens were satisfied with the old system last year, but other people wanted to improve the old system.
 
In comemoration of the Social Enterprise Festival, students performed the Nanta which is a non-verbal performance integrates Korea's traditional rhythm, Samulnori, with comedy.
 
The Chungbuk University National Education Center(N2) is scheduled to be opened with students' curiosity.
 
A total of 63 clubs have been established in CBNU. There are various kinds of clubs from volunteer work clubs to academy clubs. The clubs are located in the former student hall and 12 dong.
 
Broadcasters(MBC, KBS, YTN) have come out on strike because the broadcasters¡¯ presidents, who were appointed by the government, put pressure on many programs that criticise government policies.

The General Students Association(GSA) made a primary report on Oct. 17th about whether they fulfilled their election pledges. 52% of the 28 election pledges are finished. 32% of the election pledges are ongoing and 11% are unexecuted.
 
CBNU invited Park Kyung-chul for Omnibus Liberal Lectures.
 
Many students visit the Chungbuk National University(CBNU) Library to use the reading room. However, the number of students who don't keep the basic manners is increasing. They do not return seats and leave garbage on desks.
 
Because of increasing living costs, more and more students attempt to lessen their financial burdens. Consequently, university cafeterias have grown in popularity recently.
 
The Emergency-Call (E-Call) system, which was installed for students¡¯ security, didn¡¯t deliver significant results. Most reports through E-Calls were prank calls, and there were no actual reports about crimes. It is a not-so-understandable result considering the fact that recently crimes of Cheong-ju have more frequently occurred.
 
On September 23, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology(MEST) designated Chungbuk National University(CBNU) as a university which should be restructured by the University Evaluation System.
CBNU said about this criteria, "These evaluation standards are not appropriate for local national universities. This is unfair."

From September 28 to the 30, the Gaeshin Daedong Festival was held. More various programs than last year pleased the eyes and ears of the students in this festival.
 
On February 6, Chungcheongbuk-do and the National Folk Museum held a declaration ceremony of ¡®The 2012 Chungbuk Folk Culture Year(2012CFCY)¡¯ in the Cheongju Culture £¦ Arts Center. The declaration ceremony had four events, which were a standing event, an event before the official ceremony, an official ceremony and an event afterwards.
 
Chungbuk National University(CBNU) is composed of 13 colleges and 72 departments. Each college(with the exception of the College of Education) and department has student councils apart from the General Students' Association(GSA) of CBNU. These dozens of student councils are carrying out their duties as they represent students' opinions.

Every February and August, PC rooms located near CBNU are always full of students who have to register for courses. Although CBNU students go to the PC rooms to enroll in classes in the early morning, PC rooms are already full of students. There are many students going back to their home with long faces because they didn't register for courses which they wanted.
 
On August 26th, CBNU decided to hold the 2011 tuition review board. The board will be held in September, and it aims to make school finances transparent, to expand the scholarships and to provide a forum for discussion between the school and students.
