This year there are 57 registered university clubs on the CBNU campus. These clubs were initiated for the student body allowing them to participate in various activities including liberal arts, culture arts, volunteer work, religious activities, physical activities and education. However, because of the seriousness of the COVID-19, various changes have been made, such as outdoor activities and group activities being limited.
 
As the risk of the spread of COVID-19 has not been eliminated, CBNU has decided on the principle of non-face-to-face(NFTF) classes for the second semester of 2020. There is a difference in that the entire teaching method was decided and announced in advance; in March and April, the first semester, the method was announced after identifying the extent of the spread of COVID-19.
 
CBT interviewed the Doyak campaign members as they are running for the Student Council election in 2020. The interview was conducted to help school members understand the campaign pledges and encourage them to vote.
 
Due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, lectures were converted to non-face-to-face classes during the first semester of 2020. These unprecedented incidents are adding to the confusion among students. To solve this confusion, CBNU is coming up with measures to deal with it amid many concerns. Let¡¯s find out how CBNU plans to cope until the end of the semester.
 
The long chilly winter has finally gone, and spring has already arrived at CBNU. In 2020, new freshmen entered our university and they are buoyed up by the new and exciting prospect of campus life. We, the students and staff wish each one of you a very warm welcome! Freshmen are usually very curious about campus life, but it might be hard to get useful information. Therefore, CBT is going to introduce all kinds of useful and practical information about a variety of aspects relating to campus life.

The interview was conducted to help school members understand the campaign pledges and encourage them to vote. Jan. 28th to Feb. 3rd 2020 was the enrollment period for CBNU students to sign up for classes. Any college student appreciates the importance and urgency of enrollment especially because it is a first-come-first-served system.

The two clubs of the Department of Physics, SEM and RPG, took part in the 2019 KPS (Korean Physical Society) Fall Undergraduate Research Poster Session. The Undergraduate Research Poster Session was held for undergraduate students who are interested in physics and want to present their research under the guidance of one of their professors. Students in majors related to physics were also able to participate.
 
Synergy, the current Student Council, began their work in March 2019. CBNU students worried about Synergy because Synergy was elected in a second election after being defeated. However, Synergy has silently fulfilled their pledges for the welfare and convenience of CBNU students. Many students even felt sorry for them at the end of the Student Council¡¯s term, and students lavished praise on Synergy¡¯s work. Their term will expire soon. Let¡¯s check on the status of their pledges and their implementation plan.
 
If students want to participate in a competition, they don¡¯t have to look hard. This is because various competitions are held at CBNU every year. To name a few, there is Window of Empathy, Reading Competition, and My Cultural Class Story. How much do students know about these competitions, and how often do they participate in them? Many students can¡¯t participate in them because they don¡¯t know they exist. CBT investigated school competitions for them. This article is based on interviews with the CBNU Communication Education Center.
 
While walking through the campus, students can see many foreign exchange students around them. As the number of international students has increased, the welfare programs for foreign exchange students are increasing. There are also many programs for CBNU students to encourage them to interact with foreign exchange students. Currently, CBNU has various international exchange programs that provide opportunities for Korean and foreign students to interact with each other.
 
Selcar Team, which is focused on smart car engineering, received the grand prize at the 2019 International Student Car Competition. A competition held in Hwaseong K-city was organized by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority and the Korea Auto-vehicle Safety Association. 45 universities in Korea participated in the competition to show off their creative automobile technology. The Selcar Team surprised jurors and spectators by performing various self-driving missions, including recognition of lanes and traffic lights, obstacle-avoidance driving, and automatic parking.
 
According to the Cheongju City Bureau of Public Transportation, a bus that will pass through the Gaesin campus will start operating in November. Accordingly, the bus will follow a newly made bus route. The Department of General Affairs says that bus number 710 will follow a new bus route. The route is Ochang ¡ê Ochang 2 Industrial Complex ¡ê Yancheong High School entrance ¡ê Ochang Science Complex ¡ê LG road ¡ê Sewon Nettie Village ¡ê Cheongju Intercity Bus Terminal ¡ê Chunbuk National University ¡ê Chungbuk National University Hospital ¡ê Sannam Road ¡ê Sannam Branch, but the bus number and route might be changed in a city and bus transportation company conference.
 
September is usually the month that students, who are tired from their studies, anticipate the most because many universities hold festivals. Last month, CBNU held a festival hosted by the Student Council from August 24th to 26th. A crescendo, also the name of the festival, is a collection of significant notes that create a harmonious unity. The notes in the festival are CBNU students. The CBT reporters visited the festival, Crescendo, where students gathered to have fun.
 
Coding is another word for computer programming or making programs in computer languages such as C language, Java, or Python. In the fourth industrial revolution, computer programming is now emerging as an essential capability, not an option. In the time of a coding boom, CBNU students can easily learn how to code by joining Like-Lion at CBNU. On September 25th, the Like-Lion members held a coding class at CBNU and promoted their club. In this issue, CBT interviewed Noh Ki-jin (Dept. of Management Information Systems) and Cho Min-myung (Dept. of Data Science).
 
Freshmen who are not familiar with RC felt discomfort about RC because of a huge volume of promotional RC text messages that were sent in hot summer with a sound ¡®ti-ring¡¯. Moreover, there has been several negative postings about RC, mostly written by freshmen in the CBNU student mobile application, ¡®Every Times¡¯ such as ¡®I don¡¯t want RC sends messages to me.¡¯, ¡®It must be that the filling rate is not good.¡¯, ¡®we are losing a lot of time¡¯ and ¡®It has little of benefit¡¯. One student, who is taken the messages, bluntly said ¡®I was annoyed by the RC text in hot summer vacation.¡¯
 
Now, CBNU is trying to improve students¡¯ foreign language skills and foster global accomplishments by helping students to develop their abilities and capacities through exchange programs with the world¡¯s best universities. Currently, CBNU has made educational exchange agreements with 248 universities and nine institutions in 50 countries to promote academic exchanges and international exchange student programs. Now, 1,418 international students from 41 countries study at CBNU every year.
 
According to a recent survey of undergraduate students and graduates conducted by Saram-in, a recruitment platform, 53.9% of respondents replied that the cause of their stress is getting a job. College students and college graduates are worried about trying to join a corporation these days. There are many job seekers who don¡¯t know how to prepare for finding a job. In the first half of this year, Lee Ho-jun (¡¯13 Dept. of School of Business) joined a corporation in the face of intense competition.
 
The new library was built last year. It was completed in August 2018, and now it is officially open, so many CBNU students are using the new library. However, CBNU students have complaints about it. Now, the new library is only operating from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Because of its short operating hours, many CBNU students have complaints about the new library. According to a survey about the new library by the Synergy Student Council, 95.9% of the respondents answered that the new library is the place they want to use most. Bae Min-joo (¡¯19 Dept. of Urban Engineering) said, ¡°I mainly use the old library.
